A
member of the State Bar of Michigan for 36 years, I am a Shareholder with Foster Swift Collins & Smith, PC, in its Southfield office where my areas of practice include commercial litigation,
insurance defense and coverage, sporting and recreational liability, agribusiness law and liability, and equine law.
I have tried cases before juries in 4 states and have been admitted as pro hac vice counsel in 20 jurisdictions
across the country. During my State Bar presidency, business continued with the assistance of lawyers in my firm
and with the cooperation of fellow counsel and judges. I'm now a member of the ABA House of Delegates representing Michigan in its delegation. Previously,
I was a Vice-Chair of the ABA-TIPS Animal Law Committee. Aside from my law practice, I enjoy speaking and lecturing
on liability, insurance, and risk management at seminars, conventions, CLE programs, and conferences across the country. I
also enjoy writing and wrote 4 books and contributed to or co-authored 6 ABA books, most recently in 2019. My writings include over 400 published articles on legal subjects.
I graduated from Emory College in 1983 and Emory
Law School in 1986. On a personal level, my father was a lawyer, and my husband is a lawyer. My
hobbies include all things horses.
